Some things that may increase your risk of getting migraines include:
- Sex: Women are three times more likely to get migraines than men.
- Age: Most people start getting migraines between the ages of 10 and 40.
- Family history: If one parent has migraines, you have a 50% chance of getting them. If both parents have migraines, the risk increases to 75%.
- Other medical conditions: Depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, sleep disorders, and epilepsy can increase your risk of getting migraines.

- Child’s pose: Calms the nervous system and reduces pain.
- Cat-cow pose: Stretches the neck and spine, improves circulation, and calms the mind and body.
- Neck and head rotations: Gently roll your neck clockwise and counterclockwise, or tilt your head back and forth.
- Wrist rotations: Make fists with your palms facing down, then move your wrists up and down.
- Elbow bends: Make fists with your palms facing forward, then bend your arms at the elbow until your fists meet your shoulders.
- Shoulder rotations: Place your fists on your shoulders, then move your elbows toward each other and rotate your arms in opposite directions.
