Can Yoga & Meditation help manage Tonsillitis?

Yoga and meditation may help with tonsillitis, but more clinical trials are needed to confirm their effectiveness:

  • Yoga: Yoga poses like shoulder stand, plow, and fish can help release neck muscles and restore energy flow to the throat chakra.
  • Meditation: Yoga sessions typically include meditation.
  • Complementary and alternative medicine: Clinical studies have shown that complementary and alternative medicine remedies can improve tonsillitis symptoms in children, but more research is needed.

Most cases of viral tonsillitis can be treated with rest and fluids, and usually clear up in a few days. Bacterial tonsillitis can be treated with antibiotics, which usually eliminate the infection in about 10 days.
